Probably not one person on this Earth will contradict that smoking is harmful to your health. And yet many people still risk their lives every day, puffing away. From teenagers who think they are cool to presidential hopeful Barack Obama, a Democratic Senator from Illinois, smoking is everywhere. Heck, Obama smoking is the talk of the media who are asking if a smoker is worthy of being elected!
Many people want to quit smoking and in fact, smoking cessation products are a multi-million, maybe even a multi-billion dollar business. To stop smoking takes incredible will power because it is an addiction, one that you have to wean your body from in order to succeed. While millions of people do succeed, that many more continue to smoke. What creates smokers? How does a person become hooked when they know full well all of the dangers? Teen smoking is still quite a high statistic, with a growing girls smoking contingent. Grown women smoking have gone down. It seems that many men do not find women smokers attractive these days. If those teens only believed that smoking ages people more rapidly with crows feet and fine lines around the mouth. Perhaps it is time to review some basic smoking facts again to refresh everyone’s memory:
Obviously, the effects of smoking do not change; you will have to do that. Just say no to smoking. Embrace the smoking ban in all the places that you like to frequent. Take it as a sign that smoking is not a good thing and that you should and can quit. Become the quintessential poster child for reformed smokers. It is all a matter of willpower, so do not give in to weakness. You can quit.
